Every year, ASCE attends the Southeast Student Conference, a full weekend where students from all over the Southeast, including Florida, Puerto Rico, Alabama, Georgia, and Tennessee, travel to a university in the region and compete in civil engineering related competitions.
ASCE students spend months creating team projects to enter in the competition. The members are responsible for every aspect of their project including fund-raising, design, construction, presentation, and management. In order to further develop our members we have several events and competitions we participate in.
In the past, we have won numerous awards in the various competitions. UCF’s chapter has qualified at the Southeast Student Regional Steel Bridge Competition to continue on to the Steel Bridge National Competition where they competed at the highest stage. Considering the intense level of competition between the universities, winning at the Regional or National level is an incredible honor.

The 2025 ASCE Southeast Student Conference was hosted by The University of Georgia in Athens, Georgia. The three day event was held March 6-8, 2025. Students from 19 universities competed for the gold in 18 competition challenges highlighting various aspects of civil engineering. Thank you to everyone who attended!
